About

Cub Scout Pack 8 is located in the Madison – Monrovia area of North Alabama. The pack was started in 1974 and is sponsored by the Madison Optimist Club. Our Pack meetings are held monthly at Monrovia Elementary School.

Cub Scouts are organized by grade or age into Dens. Each den works together under the leadership of a Den Leader to earn their Ranks. The ranks in Cub Scouts are:

  • Lion (Kindergarten or age 6)
  • Tiger (1st Grade or age 7)
  • Wolf (2nd Grade or age 8)
  • Bear (3rd Grade or age 9)
  • Webelos (4th Grade or age 10)
  • Arrow of Light (5th Grade or age 11)

Pack 8 is proud to include girls in our Pack! According to BSA regulations, girls and boys must be in single-gender dens, so we have one multi-rank den.

Visit BSA’s website to learn more about scouting, or just check out their FAQs.

Pack 8 is in the Talakto District, in the Greater Alabama Council.

All the Pack records are kept at Scoutbook. All leaders and parents in the Pack should have access. Please contact us if you’re having an issue with Scoutbook.
